Wine tasting and wine growing in Znojmo

Vinice Šobes Znojmo - Ubytování Vranov nad Dyjí, penzion Vranov nad Dyjí

Visiting Znojmo and skipping the wine tasting is like going to Paris and not climbing the Eiffel Tower. Taste excellent wines in the South Moravian city of Znojmo.

Znojmo and wine belong together

The town of Znojmo and its surroundings have been an important wine-growing centre for many centuries. Preserved historical documents refer mainly to the Premonstratensian Monastery of Louka, where you can visit an exhibition on the history of viniculture. You will find one of the oldest and perhaps one of the best vineyards in Europe named Šobes on the sunny hills along the banks of the river Thaya, in the Podyjí-Thayatal National Park. It would be a shame not to try this unique wine.

History and tradition – the Znojmo wine festival

Znojemské historické vinobraní - Ubytování Vranov nad Dyjí, penzion Vranov nad Dyjí

The terms wine, wine cellar, viniculture and wine festival are often mentioned in connection with the town of Znojmo. In the late summer of each year, these terms are used even more often – it’s the time of the traditional wine festival.

For you: delicious wines from Znojmo

Ubytování Vranov nad Dyjí, penzion Vranov nad Dyjí

The Znojmo area, one of the four subregions of the Moravian wine region, is known for its production of aromatic white wines: Grüner Veltliner, Müller Thurgau, Sauvignon and Riesling. The varieties rulandské bílé (pinot blanc), rulandské šedé (pinot gris), rulandské modré (pinot noir) and frankovka (Blaufränkisch) are also of excellent quality.

We will be delighted if you enjoy the wine from Znojmo. If you select a wine in advance, we can prepare a bottle in your room on arrival. Good wine can also serve as a wonderful gift for friends or loved ones, or as a souvenir from your stay in the Podyjí-Thayatal region. We are, of course, ready to fulfil as many of your wine-related wishes as we can.

We are looking forward to your visit!
